An HTP drawing contains a house, tree, and person arranged in a scene. A useful first reading describes placement, relative size, spacing, line continuity, completion, and the relationships among the three elements before assigning any psychological meaning.
The same visible feature can have many ordinary explanations: the instruction, available time, materials, drawing habits, cultural context, or the story the artist had in mind.
What traditional HTP interpretations say
Traditional HTP writing often associates the house, tree, and person with themes such as home, growth, or self-presentation. Those are historical interpretive ideas, not universal symbol definitions and not conclusions about the person who drew the image.
